We believe that God’s love extends to everyone, and at the same time, we hold firmly to the Chapel’s position on marriage and sexuality: that God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise, is immoral and therefore sin. Similarly, we hold that God created the human race male and female and that adopting a gender other than one’s birth gender is also sin. While our position remains unchanged, we are convinced that our response to the LGBTQ+ community needs to always reflect God’s saving love.
In an effort to better understand and love the LGBTQ+ community we have compiled a list of resources that you may find helpful. The views expressed in these resources are those of their respective organizations, and the individuals providing them, and may not reflect the opinions, beliefs, or position of The Chapel. Hearing from others you don’t fully agree with is often healthy and important to learning and becoming more informed.Glossary of Terms
